home sickness and disapproval are like a disease

(the prompt (if I come back to this) is a girl from the Medieval/Victorian times, who obviously died and has been a wandering spirit for centuries. This is in ‘first person’ and is basically just her day/week (tbd) and it is only revealed that she is dead in the very end of the book when she returns home at the end of the (day/week). That's all I got for this story so far so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

The main Jackson of this universe, Kai (the unwitting partner), and Jackson (from not even god / the devil knows where) go figure out where the second one came from whilst also solving the puzzle on why the duplicate is here in the first place, because it seems even Jackson 2 doesn't know the answer to that. (I was writing this as a challenge to just write and not plan anything, but I stopped and never came back, so I want it to now be here to see if I can actually add to it)
