While I appreciate this site is only in Beta, am I the only one who's frustrated that we can't create an author's profile or search properly or message each other? And there's no way to raise problems, questions or suggestions with Fictish, no 'Contact Us' and, in fact, no info about who/what Fictish really at all.

So, in the meanwhile, shall I start a thread?

I'm ShortAndSweet. I came upon Fictish by accident as it's not really promoted. I'm female, an early-retired Computer Specialist, an ex-carer and from England - which you may have noticed from my British spelling and my iffy American dialogue - specifically the North-East, Geordieland as we call it.

A decade ago I used to write a lot of fan fiction, so I've done my apprenticeship, but I'm strictly in this for fun only so I don't need any literary criticism just the occasional enthusiastic encouragement if you can manage it. Currently I find I have a lot of time on my hands so I thought I'd give the creative writing another try.

Please feel free to comment. Please also feel free to add your self-introduction to this thread. I don't know whether this sort of 'story' is allowed on this platform but, hey, I might get to hear from a monitor (if there are any).

I’m new to Fictish. I am AzaleanTyrant, or you can call me Chantel. I've always struggled with introducing myself to people, whether in the real world or online, and engaging in meaningful conversations or forming connections. However, I genuinely believe that having a community and the ability to connect with people is essential for authors to grow. I live in quiet NW Iowa, working a part-time retail job, but I’ve always craved being something more creative, more interesting.

I’m really into rich world-building and love fantasy, survival books that delve into detail about plants. (I grew up reading My Side of the Mountain and the Jim Kjelgaard books.) I used to be able to read and walk at the same time. The first story on my page was something I’ve been sitting on for a long time.

My name is RoRo. I do not have a job (I am younger than 18), and I love creative writing!

I love writing stories that help bring the past to life.

I struggle with anxiety and being very self-conscious. I have to deal with the girls that think their better than everyone else being rude...

I'm also the weird kid at school who is constantly stuck in the middle of drama!! (Right now - especially with my crush!)

As of right now, I'm writing a story of my experience in Junior High (called "Me: The lies and spontaneous tales of others to me" here on Fictish btw!!) and another one on docs (about a girl finding herself. It takes place in the 1830s!! This one is not on Fictish.)

I love writing because it helps me process emotions and problems into words and different real-world situations!

I live in central Iowa (the middle of Iowa), and I get stuck in a LOT of drama.

The type of story I write the most would probably be realistic fiction or poetry. I read a lot of the realistic fiction genre too.

My favorite authors are Lauren Tarshis, Raina Telgemeier, Barbara O'Connor, and Janae Marks! (Comment If you like any of them too!!)

I also LOVE to sing. Singing is one of my favorite things to do and I have a dream that one day, I'll be able to share my gift with the world

BTW: My favorite singer is Benson Boone! 🩷✨

Heyo everybody!

I'm ur-unstable-fangirl42, but you can call me Ellie. I just joined Fictish a few days ago, and I'm so excited to write some stories. I'm 18, the oldest in my family, and I work 2 jobs. I live in Minnesota on a little hobby farm with lots of animals. I have an account on Wattpad (ur_unstable_fangirl9) and on Pinterest (awesome.ellie07).

My mental health isn't great, and I have anxiety and depression. The only time I can forget that I have those is when I'm reading or writing. I love pretty much every genre that ever existed, but my all-time favorite books/series include Percy Jackson, Keeper of the Lost Cities, Twilight, Land of Stories, Lord of the Rings, and TONS more. I'm writing multiple fanfictions, one of them will be published on Fictish, but chapter 1 isn't finished yet :), and when the others are finished, they will probably be published on Fictish and Wattpad. I am also writing a book about a 19 yo boy who is destined to save humanity from highly intelligent, advanced AI robots called Superiors. My goal is for it to be a trilogy.

I also like watching movies, drawing, singing, photography, sleeping, hanging out with friends, being outside, and sitting in my truck. After I graduate from high school, I plan to work toward my dream career as a dog trainer/groomer.
