The year was 2982, and the world was in desolation. Ever since the cartoon characters had come to life, they treated nothing good, especially the leader, Spongebob Squarepants. In 2145, a man accidentally plugged in his TV wrong, and ever since, the world was in ruin, the extinction of real life people coming in 2497. Unlike in cartoons, none of the characters were happy or funny, they were ruthless. All of them would kill off the humans, terrorizing them until they went into hiding, and even then, the cartoon characters hunted them down until they were considered extinct. This was carried out by the President Spongebob Squarepants, and his Vice President Homer Simpson. The only character with a little good in his heart was a hedgehog named Sonic, and this is who the story is about.

Sonic always felt different, if it was in the cartoon lobby where all the characters could relax, or while acting. Something just didn't feel right. and it all changed when he met a small band of video game characters that had escaped while the cartoon characters did. Sonic never told the cartoon characters about the video game characters, because they were different. The video game characters were kind, and didn't like the evil in the world. They were in hiding because they were afraid of the large army of cartoon characters. But that all changed when an entire group of video game characters showed up.

While Sonic was visiting the video game characters, a portal opened, and very strong looking men and women stepped out. They called themselves the Street Fighters, and their leader was named Ryu. They didn't know what had happened and explained that they were dueling, when all of a sudden, a bright light appeared, and then they were here. One of the original video game characters, Mario, explained the situation, and the Street Fighters agreed to join forces. Sonic kept all this a secret when he returned to the cartoon world, and never told anyone about them.

After a while, the video game characters devised a plan, and had Sonic find out what the cartoon characters defenses were, against newcomers. Sonic found out, and after telling them, they decided when to come out of hiding, and fight. When that time came, they were ready.

It had been weeks since the video game characters and the Street Fighters allied together to come up with a plan to take down the cartoon characters. Although there was bickering between the two teams they all had the same goal...take down Spongebob Squarepants and all his little allies. The Street Fighters found a virus that affected the cartoon characters corrupting their signals and ultimately making them disappear. Nobody knew where but as long as it worked.

It was a drafty Tuesday when Sonic, Ryu, and Mario all slipped past the cartoon's defenses. With Ryu and Mario in disguises they all sneaked to the center of the cartoon world, where Spongebob Squarepants resided. Sonic zoomed past the guards, with Ryu and Mario in hand, leaving behind a strong gust of wind, which was played off for the draftiness of the day. Once inside they sneaked past the guards until they arrived to Spongebob's room where he laid in bed. With tentative steps they walked to the bed, virus in hand. Sweat rolled down Sonic's cheek as he neared the bed and with a swift motion lifted the sheets to find NO ONE!?

Sonic looked to Ryu and Mario exasperated. A quiet chuckle echoed in the room filling it with despair as Spongebob reveals himself, an evil grin spreading across his face. They all look at him in shock and Sonic, in desperation, turns to Mario. "Hurry the virus!" but Mario only looks at him with guilty eyes as Homer Simpson appears behind Sonic and Ryu and shoots them with tranquilizer darts. Ryu screams out in frustration and lunges at Homer. He lands a heavy blow on his cheek but was shot again with a dart his strength quickly leaving him.

Sonic falls to the floor breathing heavily as his body grows weak and his eyes grow heavy. He looks to Mario with pleading eyes. They've always been a team. Why did he do this? Mario looks back at Sonic with sympathetic eyes and lowers his hat lower attempting to hide his shame. "I'm a sorry but I must save Princess Peach."

Of course! The whole time Mario was adamant in being involved, constantly was looking at pictures of Princess Peach, and insisted heavily in carrying the virus! Sonic looked to ground how could I be such a fool? He thought to himself as his eyes closed and the world grew silent.
