Silence is a thing to fear

And everyone does fear it, however instinctually

No one may ever know what lurks in the deepest cavities of quiet.

Empty silence is peaceful.

Wonderous.

But the terrifying kind of silence

Is the kind where the sound should be there and isn't.

A vacuum of noise that unsettles your soul

Because there are things hiding in that silence

Waiting for you to slip from the laughter and music of life

Waiting for you to fall

Directly into their gaping jaws

And never return

Silence is a thing to fear

Don't let it catch you

silence is like fire

it can burn you

it can hurt you,

yet like fire it is needed

and sometimes it has a place

sometimes in silence there is peace

but you have to respect it and not go to far

what else is there to lit?

rage that hidden for long?

or the fakeness of expression?

come to me,

come to me madness and guilt.

eat me whole and despise the joy.

i want more of you.

who am i to complain?

life is nothing but suffering.

The silence

Is slowly killing me,

And yet,

It's the only thing

Keeping me alive.

It haunts me,

As I walk through halls,

Built out of unanswered questions.

And yet it frees me,

As it allows me

To go on,

Without hearing a response.

After all,

A hurtful response can't be given,

If there is nothing,

To respond to.
