How this is going to work, is we start with one person’s decision, and then show someone else in the next chapter, eventually thing will branch to hundreds of stories and outcomes, based on people’s actions. Showing how nothing is truly predictable.

A simple choice, chocolate or vanilla, one thousands of people make every day, but Joel had never imagined the weight that decision could carry.

It was a Friday evening spent at the local ice cream shop, The Scoop, When our young hero was forced to make this selection, at twelve years old, he was still unsure of himself, and was having a hard time.

Vanilla, he decided, you can’t go wrong with that, he never could have been more mistaken.

At the same time young Joel was approaching the counter, Frank, the usual scooper, was clocking out for the new guy, Jeff.

While Frank was kind looking, sgragaly, with an attempted goatee and infection laugh, Jeff was build like a tank, with a 3ft beard and couldn’t remember the last time he laughed.

When Joel saw Jeff, he stiffened, but tried to be polite, “excuse me sir, but may I have a single scoop vanilla cone?”

Joel had no way of knowing this, but when Jeff was in the army, he was exposed to a vapor that any time anyone said ‘vanilla cone’ he broke out in a wild rage.

Suddenly ice cream was everywhere, the shop was torn from to foundation, and Joel was knocked to the ground.

The moral? NEVER ASK THE SCARY NEW GUY FOR A VANILLA CONE.
