It turned out to be a night of horror.
Turning in bed; twirling like a drying leaf.
It curls slowly in twos and three folds.
What it was, couldn't fathom. when the eyes
opened half way, could barely see it was 3 a am.
It wasn't a sound sleep even though had felt
great before hitting the bed.
May be, expectation of the result of my project that would
turn me into a millionaire.
My new chemistry formula to turn molecules to
expanding infinite mass; the equation in quantum, was accepted.
The Jury made me excited through the evening.
But, I had taken it to be a normal event.
I had many such recommendations. However, it was a bit unique!
It meant universal application of my work.
The night passed off in imaginations and in discomfort.
It wouldn't allow me the pleasure the same bed, it gave me previous night.
The same bed, I could just lay and lo, eyes first drooped and then didn't
know until the morning. I am an early riser.
But this was not the normal routine.
Unable to cling to bed, I was up on my feet at 5 am. Did brush,
boiled my usual oats, toast and butter on it. For breakfast was done;
at 7 I was into my car heading to the lab in the down town. At this time,
the roads gave me a clear drive way..... reaching my destination
in about twenty minutes.
To my surprise, I thought I was the first to reach. No.
There I saw the entire leadership of the Lab present. The families.
The press and the Mayor.
The entrance lined with flowers; it was a big day, I thought as
my heart pounded. My feet were quicker, but felt a bit heavier.
As I neared, there was cheer all the way. Some children held
placards in their little hands. Welcome!
The Mayor advanced and I gave my hand in his extended hand.
I was wonderstruck. And grateful.
Head of the Lab, greeted and handed over flowers. I was
ushered in the audi. Unable to stabilise my thoughts, I just
followed him......
