The speakers boomed as President John Edward VI gave an unforeseen warning, "Excuse me UR citizens. This is an emergency. All citizens are to leave current positions and go to their residence. All families within UR Territory will be given a supply pack each month to sustain members in a household. Population counting will begin at the 43rd day of each month at the capital district of each Province. As soon as UR military gets ahold of the situation, UR citizens are to remove and turn off all Heledroids for their own safety and protection of their households,” There was a disturbing silence before Mrs. Quonash spoke. She then ushered us out of the classroom and let us into a dark room. She opened a door and told us to all go in. My feet touched a damp wet soil and the air felt cool and humid. Mrs. Quonash spoke softly and calmly through the weeping children,"Come along now, don't be afraid. Hush hush." The Headmaster spoke and everyone stopped. "Children, this is not a drill. We don't exactly know what is going on but this is what we have been instructed to do. Children, you shall split up into groups by your street number, and a preceptor shall escort you to your streets. 42! Go over by Mr. Mateb." Children shuffled to a corner with one of the preceptors as the Headmaster called out more numbers. "54! You go by Mrs. Quonash". No, Natasha is on 54. She glimpsed at me through the cloud of people. I tried waving, but before I could, she was gone. "73! You're by Mr. Larti" Something was familiar about 73... "Ella!" What was so familiar? "ELLA!" The Headmaster was shouting my name. "Huh? What?" Unaware that the Headmaster had been shouting my name for the last 30 seconds. "You are on 73, correct?" That would make sense. "Yes sir." I walked over and was escorted into a dark tunnel with 20 other kids following along.
The journey was filled with tears and damp footsteps squishing in the moist dirt. Mr. Larti didn't have kids of his own so he wasn't that much of a help for the juveniles. Mara-May and John were the eldest of the group so they were mainly the ones to help soothe everyone's emotions. Mr. Larti said we had been walking for about 25 minutes now and everyone's feet were tired. Through the darkness of the tunnel I could see flickerings of light that must have been our street. It kept getting brighter and brighter as we walked closer to it. We were called to a halt and Mr. Larti told us to be quiet. We all stood listening. Even the 3rd years who had been crying and screaming were even quiet. As we listened we heard inaudible mumbling. It didn't even sound close to English. They made gurgling sounds and grunts. Weird noises I didn't think were possible. As the noise faded away, screams were heard instead. Technic shots fired and the screaming stopped. We waited and we heard the mumblings again. Mr. Larti felt what I thought was the ceiling of the tunnel and latched in what sounded like some sort of lock. "Everyone, get down low on the ground. Lay down if you have to. Roll twenty paces from my voice and stay until you hear otherwise."
A sewer plate opened and light illuminated the tunnel. Three beings were standing above looking down at our group. They made wierd clicking and grumbling sounds as if they were communicating with each other. They were a grayish brown sort of color, with The one on the right was speaking but his mouth wasn't even moving in the slightest. After they got done conversating with another, they all looked at Mr. Larti who face turned a pale sort of white and froze in place. Then they looked at us and pointed. We all sperated only to see a frightened small little boy in the middle. The boy was then lifted up by some magical force, hovered to the opening and taken out. The gray creatures made a gesture and left. No one tried to stop them. We just stood in silence watching with wide eyes as that poor little boy got taken away.
