Chapter 11: SONG WRITING COMPETITION!!
YOUR STORY. YOUR WORDS. YOUR SONG.
Ever had a feeling you couldn't explain? A person you couldn't forget? A memory that still lives in your head? A story that keeps replaying in your mind? Then maybe it's time to turn it into a song. You don't need to be a professional songwriter. You don't need perfect lyrics. You don't need a fancy melody. All you need is a story, a feeling, and the courage to put it into words. Write about love. Write about heartbreak. Write about friendship. Write about growing up. Write about someone you never got to say goodbye to. Write about something you've never been able to say out loud. Make us feel something. Your song might be about something that happened yesterday, or something you've been carrying for years. So don't overthink it. Pick up your pen. Open your notes app. Start writing. Because somewhere out there is a song only YOU can write. ARE YOU IN? Let’s see whose words can turn into a song. 🎶
Chapter 22: Stars in the Sky- memory, story, feeling, faith
[Transition]
[I look up at the stars in the sky
And I’m left simply wondering why]
Left without hope
Left full of sorrow
Why did he ever choose to leave
I look up at the birds in the air
Flying free ‘cause they don’t have to care
At first that was what I tried
I tried not care
It was just to hard to cry
(Wondering why)
[Transition]
It happened to me
Not someone else
Why did he ever choose to leave
I look around at the family’s laughing
Happy ‘cause their together
Later that’s what I tried
I tried to laugh
It was to hard to cry
(Wondering why)
[Transition]
He made the choice
He took his life
Why did he ever choose to leave
I look around at my family crying
Eventually I realize that that’s fine
It’s just to hard to hide
(Wondering why)
[Transition]
I can’t just stay stuck in this hole
This hole that I blame him for
Why did he ever choose to leave
I look down at the Bible on the floor
Didn’t realize I don’t read anymore
And thats when I prayed
And opened the book
I simply couldn’t cry anymore
(Wondering why)
I look up at the stars in the sky
And I’m left with a peace about why
I’ve finally forgiven
He didn’t do it to hurt me
Why’d it take me so long to believe
Instead of wondering why
