Chapter 11: Gardening on a sunny day

Minimoose Contemporary 27 May 2026

The sun was high in the sky and Linea was glad she'd worn a hat, though she could still feel the skin on her nose starting to crisp a little. But the carrot patch needed to be weeded, the tomatoes needed to be pruned and she wanted to cut some rosemary so it could start drying in the same sun that was making her a little uncomfortable.

"Oh well, I'll have to get some stronger sun cream. You'll just have to deal with it for now, nose."

She tried to look at her nose while she talked to it, and realised how silly this would look to an observer. Never mind, maybe the plants got a laugh out of it. Giggling a little, she stretched her back, knelt back down and continued to carefully pluck the weeds from between the rows of bushy little carrot plants. "The chickens are going to enjoy munching these" - into the chicken basket they went.

Chapter 22: Two Noses Are Better Than One

Trumpetrousers Humor / Comedy 3 Aug 2026

As Linea continued tending to the chickens weed buffet, Nose sat right there in the middle of her face quite upset. Linea had allowed Nose to burn and Nose felt a little detached from Linea. As she took the full basket over to the garden table Nose took the opportunity to fully detach, hop right off, and sit in the shade. 'You should take better care', Nose thought, and said it too. You would imagine Linea would be alarmed by this, but she didn't bat an eye. Nose took note, quite prepared to have a go at Eye, but let it go. Nose relaxed in the shade, and took in all the wonderful scents floating past.

Nose thought of itself as rather handsome and could easily have been the nose on a Roman emperor, proud of its size too. Linea must have eaten all her greens as a child Nose thought as he slowly drifted into a snooze.

Linea noticed Nose had drifted off and quietly she tippy toed to the far corner of the garden. This part of the garden had been lovingly tended, had the best soil and perfect amount of sun and shade. Eagerly she shifted aside the bush which disguised her most treasured plant. In front of her grew the most beautiful nose she had ever seen. Soon ready for picking.

Chapter 33: Right on the Nose

Chesterfield Fantasy 4 Aug 2026

Nostradamus reveled in the soft soil. "Of all the gardens in all the world, this one is pretty damn good." No, I can do better than that. "It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." Yes, relaxing here was the best of times. And, I suppose, this may be the worst of times for Linea's sunglasses which no longer had a nosebridge to pinch.

The temperature of the soil was just right. It was gently warm from the morning sunlight, but now in the afternoon, the shade was welcome. As Goldilocks would say, "It was not too hot, not too cold. It was just right!"

Nose took in the delicious aroma of the garden soil and its rich compost. Yes, a nose by any other name would still smell your feet. If your feet smell, and your nose runs, you must be put together upside down. Oh, no! An ant was inspecting Nose's left nostril. What if it crawls inside? Nostradamus was no longer connected to Linea's lungs, so there was no breath for it to huff, and puff, and blow the ant out!

Linea always had her nose in a book. Hey, that nose was me! Now, she had lost her nose to spite her face, whatever that means.

Hey, Linea is looking at something in that bush. What's going on?
