“Now, justwait a moment there, Chet!”
“Weight? There’s nothing wrong with my weight! I haven’t gained any weight since the OctoberFestival of the Harvest Moon. See, I caneven fasten my belt around my waist!”
“Well, that’s certainly a positive development. But, I didn’t mean that kind of weight; I meant ‘pause’”.
Chesterfieldlooked down at his feet. “My paws arefine! They’re sturdy and they carry meand my weight wherever I go!”
Kimanagave a little chipmunk giggle at her mate’s silly misunderstanding. “Oh, Chesterfield! There’s no need for us to have an argy-bargy,as the Brits would say. I just wanted togive you a good warm kiss before you stepped out in the winter air.”
“Oh! Yeah, Okay!”
Several minutes later, Chet set out on his daily walk. Kimana, in a pleasant swoon, fell into her favorite easy chair.
