My hands,

As stained as my heart was scarred,

Hold the only key,

To an escape,

From a heavy heartbeat,

And stinging salt,

That flows from my eyes.

A ballpoint pen.

With jet-black ink.

Word,

By word,

Letter,

By letter,

I make my own gateway,

My own escape,

From a life I've been told,

Has been unfair to live,

Especially by someone,

Who's not that old.
