"Let's go Nabi!" his girlfriend Areum yelled. Nabi hurried along, his feet catching on the rough terrain of North Korea. Nabi and Areum were prisoners of war, after the great grandson of Kim Jong-Un had conquered South Korea. Now they had their chance to escape. After the prison guards fell asleep at their cells, they were trying to escape. Areum, thinking fast, had grabbed the keys to their cells, and released them. Ever since, the government had been chasing them. Loud shouts could be heard behind Nabi and Areum, as they ran for their freedom. Guns fired at them, bullets nipping the ground at their feet.
"Look!" Areum yelled. Nabi looked up, and saw the wall surrounding North Korea from the outside world. Adrenaline kicked in, and he sped up, eager to get to safety. Suddenly, as sharp pain tore through his elbow. He fell to the ground, clutching it in his hand. A bullet had hit, smashing the bone on the end, and damaging his joint. Areum turned back, and ran to his side.
"Holy Frick!" Nabi yelled through gritted teeth. Blood was soaking his shirt now, and running down his arm.
"Let's go! You can persevere!" yelled Areum. But the guards were closing in fast, and Nabi would only slow down the love of his life.
"Go without me," he told her, tears stinging his eyes at the thought of never seeing her again.
"No!" Areum wailed, "I won't leave you!"
"Go!" Nabi said in a firm voice. Areum looked at him once more, tears in her eyes, and then turned and ran. Nabi watched as she escaped through a small hole in the bottom of the wall, and then braced himself for the guards.
Pretty soon, he felt a hand clamp on his shoulder, and a gun to his head.
"Get up!" they commanded him. Not wanting to cause any trouble, Nabi rose to his feet, still clutching his elbow, and allowed them to handcuff him and lead him back to the prison. He risked one last glance at the place where Areum had been, and thought about how she would survive in the outside world.
