SEE YOU THERE!
A Security Officer, Max86, a gnome patrolling aloft on his gargoyle, was first to report the commotion. He signaled to Dispatch, which immediately summoned all available Security personnel to the pens where the mounts awaited the start of the MCR. The Head of Security, a former body builder and governor of California, was eating lunch at the catering tent; he said to his companions in a low, no-nonsense voice, “I’ll be back.”
Gog and Magog, two Sasquatch Security Officers, were first on the scene. They found a jackalope and a wolpertinger circling each other like wrestlers who had not yet come to grips while they shouted insults such as, “You’re the ugliest son of a binturong I’ve ever seen!” The Security Officers intervened, stepping between the belligerent cryptids. The combatants wouldn’t tolerate this intrusion; they set aside their petty squabble, and both turned on the giant authority figures. At the same time, they each shouted for their teammates to join the fray.
The two giants were not ready for the ferocity of their rather small opponents, each about the size of a Canada goose. Each racing mount leaped well over a meter into the air, and, using its forelimbs, repeatedly and rapidly punched each giant where he was the most sensitive. They also kicked with their powerful rear limbs. More Sasquatches arrived. As the fighting became more violent, some of the fences in the holding area were broken or knocked down. Some of the Mythological Creatures stampeded, trying to escape the violence; others joined in.
The Head of Security arrived and saw immediately that he needed to restore order. He alone had experience in dealing with violent mobs. His great physical strength terrified the rioters, and his mighty voice commanded respect. He and his officers soon had the situation under control. All of the Mythological Creatures were returned to their proper pens, where the team doctors tended to any injuries. Sasquatch officers were assigned to patrol the area. The Head of Security returned to his lunch.
