Chapter 22: Daylight by Taylor Swift (wrote this when I was younger, closed my eyes and hit the publish button)
Taylor had some pretty cruel lovers, but none were as cruel as her. This new boy, Joe, wasn’t the best choice. He seemed fine, but when she truly looked at him, she decided it wasn’t worth it. He was dull, not really paying attention as much as Taylor would like and she was about to drop him like a fly. Maybe I should just forgive and forget, Taylor thought, after all, I’ve probably crossed way more lines myself. She continued on with her way, not having a second thought about the subject.
As Taylor walked into class, Joe was there to greet her, like he always was. “You’re so predictable.” Taylor said, trying not to sound rude.
“What? You gonna break up with me over that?” Joe replied tauntingly, he knew Taylor would never break up with him. Even if she had some kind of disease and that was the only cure.
As the teacher droned on and on in class, Taylor couldn’t help but stare at Joe. The teacher never got on her for this, he had given up trying to get her attention.
“Pay attention.” Joe mouthed jokingly, “Mr. Teacher’s gonna get you.” he laughed. He could never remember the teacher’s name, neither could Taylor though.
“I will.” Taylor said back in a slightly louder voice, knowing she would break that promise soon, “I was just going to ask you to dinner tonight.”
“Let me check my schedule.” Joe mimed pulling out a large calendar, and pretended to look at it for a second, “Yeah…I’m free.”
