Everyone Feared the Dark Forest, from the youngest carrot to the wisest head of lettuce; whether it was the enormous trees, the canopy that blocked out most light, or the mysterious creatures that lay inside, those who entered never returned.

Our tale takes place in the sleepy little town where vegetables usually lived in peace, until the children were captured by strange flying beasts.

A traveler named George was passing through this usual village when he heard the tale of this formidable landscape.

He was an Everything Bagel, a very hearty and adventurous breed. He sported a large Hungarian mustache, lederhosen, and a black cap with a feather. He had heard the legends from the people, strange flying beasts, carried of children, pits of fire.

”I will return your children to you, over come the pits of fire, and,” he pointed to his cap, “I have already bested these flying creatures.”

The others cheered as he set out on his journey, but the Elder Turnip slowly shook his head, knowing that birds and fire were only the beginning.
