Chapter 11: Captain's Log: Day 33

SolAr Fantasy 1 day ago

We are making good progress toward Tide Ridge, with fair winds at our back, and good provisions in store. Additionally, Kellin is proving a capable cabin boy.

Cartographical efforts are advancing slower than hoped after a storm blew us back several miles into and area we had already charted extensively. Izara isn’t happy but Izara isn't happy with most of the situation. She isn't like Tommy; she isn't used to the sea.

It is odd to use these for my personal accounts. I feel as though I'll be told off at any moment. It's been a long while since I kept a log. These days I'm not certain who I'm keeping them for.

The visions have started again. They never really stopped, of course, but for a small time in Bryd they slowed to a pace where they almost exclusively came at my bidding. That was actually stranger to me than being taken by them in the middle of dinner. I'm no wizard.

The latest vision was stranger than most recent ones. I was running through the woods – dirt in my nose, blood under my tongue, rain down my back – but in the end could do little more than move in circles. Whoever I was was anguished by this. As myself, through their mind, I tried to cast my eyes around. This is much harder when they take me by surprise, I've found. But with some effort, I managed to drag the vision slightly to the left - enough, at least, to see how I got here. Alongside my new friend's endless jog was a river, clear enough for a reflection.

Tommy can tell it's getting more intense even though I've barred him from my room. My latest attempt at control comes at the suggestion of our new friend Nem – as much as Nem is capable of making a suggestion – and they advised me to record everything I remember. This has lead to the walls of my cabin being covered with paper, some of which has a disturbing content. I doubt Tommy would be disturbed himself but maybe on my behalf, and with the entire situation being so new, it wouldn't do to bring additional concerns.

I am glad him and Izara made it. We do tend to come back to each other, but it's never been quite so long we've intentionally separated. I haven't seen him since I settled in Bryd, and sending Izara to find him and reconvene in Northpoint was a gamble. But I suppose then, gambles have always been our thing.

This is the end of the narrative for now. However, you can write the next chapter of the story yourself.
