Chapter 1
In the expensive kingdom of Dagorock, King David gravely consulted his trustworthy advisor (Rowan), to strategise what they were to do about the imminent threat known as the Obsidian Circle, made up of the city's most ruthless killers. Many had already fallen by their hand and a lot were in captivity, being guinea pigs in torturing expiriments. Jake (David's son) hesitantly approached his grief-stricken father. Woefully, David's wife -Sapphire- had been captured a few months ago by Obsidian Commander Zack In a year's time, Sapphire would be forced to mate with Zack. In order to bring the peace back to Dagorock, Jake had been training for 5 years and had grown up to be a formidable warrior, having perfected unique blade and mage techniques.
Chapter 2
All was chaos.
The destructive infernos blazed all through the night, lassoing it's victims until they burned an agonising, burning death. Hooded psychopath trudged amongst the mangled remains of fallen ones. Jake raced through the havoc of the blood-stained night, striking down foe after foe in order to save his father. Obsidians circled him, fighting to capture, not to kill.
"We need him alive," one of them croaked,"only he knows the dwellings of the Mystical Gems, relics of great power."
Just as he was about to reach his father, he was grabbed by an Obsidian, who threatened to run his knife across his throat if Jake made one more move. Solemnly, he watched his battered father brutally thrown into a cage and driven away.
Chapter 3
The once vivacious city of Dagorock was now a mass of mourning citizens. All who had been mesmerised by David's grace were left heartbroken now that he was gone. Predictably, the whole city looked towards Jake as their leader. In times like now, one must step up and prevail over all challenges. Could that person be Jake, or would he get crushed under the intense pressure of the stimulating task. Only time could tell.
A ceremony was held in order to mourn and honour their king's noble sacrifice. Such a multitude had never been seen in Dagorock. Many from surrounding cities had come to show their respect for Dagorock's monarch.
Chapter 3
On a stormy evening, Jake was out walking with his girlfriend-Arya- to plan the upcoming simultaneous attacks that they were going to launch on some discovered enemy bases.
While she droned on, all that was in his mind was how gorgeous she looked, from her sapphire blue eyes to her beautiful hips, she always seemed to make Jake's cheeks turn red and now, he was blushing a furious crimson shade. Suddenly she asked, "What?"
Jake realised that he was staring and tried to cover it up saying that he was just lost in thought (which he was, about her).
An earth-quaking rumble shakes the whole ground.
Chapter 5
Slowly, the army stealthily crept through the dense flora, nimbly picking their way through the leaf- strewn floor. Today Jake was going to savour every moment that he struck down an enemy warrior. Suddenly, an unexpected barrage of arrows rained down on the disgruntled troops. Men were knocked down and the ones alive scuttled away, sprinting back through the packed woods.
There had to be a traitor, Jake thought, as that was the only way that the enemy could find out about their plans. Suprisingly, as if to conclude his thoughts, a warm giggle could be heard and Arya, his dynamic duo, came waltzing through the ranked formations of the Obsidians.
"You're, you're one of them," he stuttered. Those were the only things that he could say before he raced away through the thick tangle of branches.
His heart was broken and everything that he had loved and cared about had been taken away from him. His mom. His dad. Even his girl friend hhad been a backstabber. His reality was ripping to shreds and he felt like he had no connections to the mortal world. Arya was going to pay.
Chapter 6
Tyler walked into Jake's room.
He was staring out of the window in a trance-like fashion. Nothing could quench his hunger for revenge. Day and night, he trained, mastering deadly techniques, giving himself little breaks. As Tyler was a friend, he was welcome in the castle but today, he came at the right time.
Just as Jake was walking towards him, three Obsidians swung in through the open window, meeting a fatal strike from Tyler's blade. If he hadn't been there, who knows what would have happened as Jake was blinded with hatred. He had let his guard down, a mistake that could have cost him his life.
Chapter 7
Today, he was not going to fail again.
He had lost to many loved ones because of his hotheadedness and he was not going to make the innocent lives that were ready to fight for him to lose their life in vain.He fought with blood-thirsty aggressiveness, swinging his blade in arcs left, right and centre.
He had only one thing on his mind. 'He was going to succeed.'
It wasn't long before his daydream came true. Jake was victorious over the Obsidian's.
His golden day ended when an army general, Malcom, approached him, dragging Arya behind him. Here was the perfect chance to avenge his parents but he couldn't bring himself to do it. After all the betrayal, he still longed for the chance to be back at the castle with Arya and none of this had ever happened.
"Load her in a separate cart away from the other prisoners," he said with tears in his eyes.
