This left me searching for where the perfume is hiding: in the raspberries of the desert or in the horses and lions. I guess it all depends on what kind of fragrance one is looking for. Horses have a fragrance too. I found it.

Speech marks tire me up when I try to use them but I do enjoy them used by someone else. You definitely have a way around doing a first party speech kind of a story.
