Chapter 11: Riot45 Prompt Challenge: Vessel
Hiya, this is an idea that follows on from a thread I made on the discussion forum, as I thought it might be fun to have some writing prompts!
The prompt is a one-word one, as I find those to be the most versatile and interesting.
The word I picked for this thread is 'vessel'.
I'm going to post my interpretation of the prompt below this as a 'chapter 2', so that my submission doesn't sway anyone's ideas on what to write, and hope you guys will get involved with your own takes on the prompt by adding new chapters/story paths below! Credit to SepiandDust for the general idea of how this is all set out :)

Chapter 22: Hosts
Will
“Where’d you go?” April snaps her fingers in front of his face. “Earth to Will!”
Will jolts out of his stupor. “What?” Can’t a man think in peace?
“You’re impossible, honestly.”
“Thank you. I try.
April rolls her eyes. “Did you hear anything I just said?”
“Something about getting your hair cut again.”
“That was ten minutes ago!”
Will looks around, perplexed by his surroundings. “Where are we anyway?” He doesn’t remember walking this far.
“Where are we—have you been paying attention to anything?"
“I try.”
She stops in the middle of the sidewalk, plants her hands on her hips, glaring at him sternly. “Alright, spill it.”—She’s maybe 5’2, 100 pounds, with the attitude of someone twice her size.
“Spill what?”
“Whatever's got you so distracted that you’d tune out my illustrious voice and walk five blocks without remembering!”
“It’s not—”
“out with it, now!”
“It’s just, I’ve never been to a party before, at least not like this.”
“Honestly, me either, but we’ve been studying hard all semester. One Halloween party couldn’t hurt. We have to do it at least once!”
“What if there’s drugs there?”
“There will be.”
“What if someone tries to pressure me. You know how I get.”
“You can just say no. Besides, I’ll be there too. You might even meet a cute girl.” She elbows him playfully in the ribs. “We’ve know each other for twelve years, have I ever steered you wrong?”
“Well—”
“Don’t answer that.”
Will tries to take a breath. She's right—it’ll be fun. He’s just overreacting.
“You still haven’t told me where we’re going yet.”
“I did tell you, you just weren’t paying attention.
Now it’s his turn to elbow her in the ribs.
They walk for a while longer, until April exclaims, “There it is.”
Will follows her gaze, coming to rest upon a—“halloween store? Didn’t we pass at least a dozen of them on the way here?”
“This is the biggest one in the city, I checked!” She said, waving her arms emphatically as she began to walk faster. Her eyes were glued to the neon sign above the store, reminiscent of a moth to the flame.
She was practically running now. “Come on. The party’s in just a few hours. We’ve gotta get our costumes so we can start getting ready.”
