I feel so alone.

No one sat next to me during registration.

I feel so insecure.

I sat alone on the burgundy seats on the top row just writing in my notebook.

"Kathy!" Pamela said "You're in the first group so sit onstage and Isla will be with you in a minute." I headed down the yellow stairs, past the black curtains and onto the stage.

Isla arrived and we sang When I Grow Up from Matilda The Musical and Hakuna Matata from The Lion King until snack time.

Then Polly and Maya took us into the dance studio and we did a dance to Revolting Children from Matilda The Musical.

"Right guys! Time for lunch!" Polly said and we moved back into the theatre where they had set up a table where they were giving out chicken nuggets!!

Then we showed the second group our stuff and went home.

"How was camp?" Mom asked when I opened the door.

"It was fine," I responded, not mentioning the fact that I didn't make very many friends, "It was mostly just singing."

"That sounds fun," Mom said, "Would you like some supper?"

"Sure," I responded.

After dinner, I went upstairs to my room. Posters of famous actors covered my walls, movie posters plastered to my ceiling.

'If only I were as good as them,' I thought, 'I could be the star.' I turned over on my bed. My phone rang.

"Hello?" I responded.

"Is this Kathy Melthol?" A voice asked over the other end.

"Yes," I responded confused, "Who is this?"

"I'm Miranda, the producer of the next musical that you're in. I was just calling to say that you made the role. You will be playing Jasmine in our next play, Alladin."
