"Dude just go already." Drew says, an annoyance in his tone.

"I will just give me a sec." I can't help but freeze where I stand. He doesn't understand my situation. Looking at her now, she is just as beautiful as she was years back. Her signature white scrubs for her tech med class.

I feel the hand on my back and I am shoved forward. "Chris go."

My sudden stumble forward catches her attention and when I turn back Drew is gone.

The main atrium is relatively empty considering how last period just ended. Only a few other students remain, including her. Snow.

Her eyes are set on my, not my eyes but rather my clothes. Of course today of all days I wore my No Kings jacket. Because a girl like her would be into a emo punk stereotypical skater boy, yeah right. My mind still drifts back to years ago freshman year. Two months, two months was how long we dated and it ended with a text. She said she wasn't ready for a relationship and honesty neither was I.

"Chris?"

Crap. "Oh hey."

Really that's the best I can say?

"Do you have tutorials or something?"

The conversation is happening at an awkward distance and her voice is raised slightly. Enough for me to hear. I start walking forward to close the distance as I respond, "No just like, bored."

"Ah okay, well how have you been?"

What was originally a random and odd conversation turns to us sitting along the brick wall of the building talking about life. Struggles with work. Catching up on random events. Time passes and the sun starts to go down, the sky darkening.

"Hey are you busy tomorrow?" She asks suddenly. Tomorrow is my one off day of the week, she couldn't be asking to hang out could she?

"No why?"

"I was thinking maybe tomorrow after school we could go shopping and get some food or something, maybe I don't know."

My response is almost too hasty, "Yeah that would be great!"
