Chapter 1

One fine morning, a puppy popped his puppy paws out of his puppy house. This was no ordinary puppy. This puppy was the happiest puppy in the whole world. In fact, his name was Happy. It was a particularly special day for Happy today because this day was the day he was scheduled to get neutered. Happy did not know what "neutered" meant. He recognized that first part of the word sounded like "new". Happy knew what "new" meant! Anything "new" was always a wonderful delight. Balls, chew toys, socks, toilet paper - these things were always so much better when they were "new". Happy 17 simply could not contain his happiness today! There were still several hours before his appointment. Happy smiled.
