Hiya, this is an idea that follows on from a thread I made on the discussion forum, as I thought it might be fun to have some writing prompts!

The prompt is a one-word one, as I find those to be the most versatile and interesting.

The word I picked for this thread is 'vessel'.

I'm going to post my interpretation of the prompt below this as a 'chapter 2', so that my submission doesn't sway anyone's ideas on what to write, and hope you guys will get involved with your own takes on the prompt by adding new chapters/story paths below! Credit to SepiandDust for the general idea of how this is all set out :)

As I look at all of the blood vessels,

I know I need to hustle,

Because I know there shouldn't be this much blood.

My chest tightens as I take a look at their vitals,

And my eyes tear up at this never-ending cycle,

As their insides seem to flood.

People are scrambling and shouting around me as I whisper to myself, "not another one,"

Cause this time I may actually be done,

Though I know I say it every time.

I wish I could run,

To somewhere further than the sun,

As rapid beeping turns into a never-ending chime.

"No!" I hear the wail from the waiting room,

As I wash my hands, feeling like an empty tomb,

The hand on my shoulder tells me I'll be fine.

But that doesn't stop me from wishing I had never made it past my mother's womb,

Cause it seems that I'll never be rid of this gloom,

And I know it won't be long till my psyche breaks like twine.
