Stella Trinity walked through the streets of what used to be Atlanta, Georgia. The midtown skyline had been demolished since 2062 when the cities fought back, and the government set bombs on its own people. It's been five years since, and there is no longer a government, cities, or a United States. There are barely any people, at least not here. The day that the bombs fell was the day Stella lost everything; hell, she was barely surviving right now. She barely felt alive. And with the mosquito bites and lack of food, she looked like a drug addict.
She had been in and out of some of the buildings that were safe but not intact to gather anything of use, whether for herself or for trade. But an animal must have died somewhere because it was smelling pretty rotten inside the old Wimbish House, which sounded pretty off for a place that used to plan weddings. A lot of times, these places would have tablecloths, candles, and maybe some blankets she could take, but it looked like they had already scavenged through. The deeper she walked, the more potent the smell got, and after this last room, she was out of here, done for the day. Stella's energy was pretty low at this point.
When Stella opened up that door, she found the source of the smell that made her want to vomit, a man who had expired pretty recently, as in the blood was still wet from the gunshot hole in his head. Her blood ran cold, and she was not staying here another minute, but as she left, one thing remained. She knew that face, but she couldn't think of where or when. Was it before the bombs or after? And who murdered him?
Leaving the building, Stella didn't see anything off, but she also didn't stay to check, just in case the murderer was still close.
